The toilet seat is composed of various components, some located inside the tank and others outside. If you want to remove the toilet seat, here’s how to do it:

How to Remove the Toilet Seat

To remove a hinged toilet seat, first, observe that the mounting bracket of the toilet seat has a switch that can be slid. By gently moving it, you can pull the toilet lid outward, allowing the toilet seat to detach from the base. Next, you will see a bolt at the bottom, usually white, which might be positioned towards the outside. You just need to unscrew this nut. However, be careful to press the clip on top while unscrewing; otherwise, it will rotate along with the nut. Both nuts on either side need to be unscrewed, so the entire mounting base can be removed, allowing the toilet seat to be fully detached.

Shapes of Toilet Seats

1、Toilet seats come in different shapes, commonly classified as either O-shaped or U-shaped. The U-shaped design resembles the letter 'U,' with a notch at the front. This design is often preferred in public restrooms abroad, as it has a clever feature to prevent theft and can save material. Because the front is cut out, it’s less appealing for someone looking to steal a toilet seat in a public toilet setting.

2、For home use, O-shaped toilet seats are generally preferred. This type provides a full, 360-degree contour and has a slightly higher weight capacity. Due to its robust construction, it tends to last longer than U-shaped seats. As a result, their usage contexts differ: U-shaped seats are commonly used in public toilets, while they are rarely used in households.

3、For home users, to prevent the seat from feeling cold in winter, a toilet seat cover can be used. This not only addresses the cold issue but also adds a layer of hygiene.

In summary:the above explains the toilet seat, its various shapes, and the contexts in which they are used. Removing a toilet seat is a simple process. For more information about toilets, you can visit the Hawkrown.
