In daily life, the hardware we often use, after years of wear and long-term use, will inevitably show various small problems. Replacement has become our best solution. So, how to disassemble a hot and cold water faucet? What should we pay attention to when using a hot and cold water faucet? Today, let's take a closer look at the disassembly of hot and cold water faucets.
How to Disassemble a Hot and Cold Water Faucet
1. Turn off the main water valve.
2. Locate the red and blue dots under the handle.
3. Use a flashlight to check if the screw inside is a cross-head or a slotted head.
4. Use the corresponding screwdriver to remove it, then gently take off the handle.
5. Use a wrench to unscrew the nut and remove the valve core of the faucet.
6. Clean out any sand particles inside the valve core and check the rubber sealing ring.
Precautions When Using a Hot and Cold Water Faucet
1. Some kitchen sink hot and cold water faucets are closely connected to the basin, making it difficult to remove the hose as it may be embedded deeply within the pipe. Therefore, during installation, the valve seat may be locked to the faucet body with screws. This way, it's easier to use a longer screwdriver to unscrew the screw counterclockwise from the bottom, then push up the valve seat and high-pressure hose.
2. In some cases, the inlet hose may have become brittle or the fittings rusted due to prolonged use, preventing easy removal of the inlet hose. You can drop a couple of drops of oil on the rusty part before removing the basin faucet.
3. If water continues to flow from the outlet after the kitchen hot and cold water faucet is turned off, it usually indicates a problem with the inlet valve core, such as garbage blocking the sealing ring at the bottom of the valve core, damage to the sealing ring, or impurities in the pipeline scratching the valve core.
In summary: The above is all about how to disassemble a hot and cold water faucet. Everyone should master the skills of disassembling the faucet, as being able to do it ourselves in daily life can enhance efficiency and avoid disrupting our lives.
