After the bathroom renovation is complete, we need to install floor-mounted toilets and other sanitary ware. The installation of floor-mounted toilets can generally be divided into four steps, as follows:

How to install a floor-mounted toilet:

1、Inspect the toilet

Before installation, we should open the toilet package and check for any cracks. We also need to open the toilet tank lid and check for any missing parts in the tank. Additionally, before inspecting the toilet, it’s important to measure the distance from the wall to the toilet flange to ensure that the toilet will fit properly.

2、Determine the waste outlet center position

First, lay a cardboard mat on the ground and gently turn the toilet onto it. Next, locate the center of the toilet's waste outlet and draw a cross line; make sure the cross line extends to the outer edge of the toilet so that it is visible. Then, use the same method to determine the center position of the ground waste pipe and draw another cross line. Finally, align the toilet's waste outlet with the ground waste pipe, ensuring that the cross lines coincide, and use chalk to trace along the bottom edge of the toilet on the floor.

3、Install the toilet

Use an angle grinder to cut the protruding drain pipe at the floor level; generally, the drain pipe should extend about 0.5 cm above the floor. If the toilet has a dual hole, apply sealant to seal the unused outlet before installation. Next, position the toilet's sealing flange over the toilet outlet and press it down firmly. Then, apply sealant along the inner side of the positioning line at the base of the toilet, align the toilet with the line, and set it down. Finally, apply sealant around the base of the toilet to secure it in place.

4、Install the toilet accessories

After the toilet is installed, connect one end of the water supply hose to the water inlet of the toilet tank and the other end to the toilet angle valve, and tighten the hose cap to secure it. Place the toilet seat on the toilet, making sure the screw holes of the toilet and seat align, then use screws to secure it.

In summary:This is a simple introduction to how to install a floor-mounted toilet. I hope that after reading this article, everyone will have a better understanding of the installation steps for the toilet. When installing the toilet, it's also important to clear any debris from the floor and check that the ground drainage pipe is unobstructed.
