To address the issue of toilet blockage, we can utilize tools available around us, such as a wire or steel wire, which can also be used to unclog the toilet. Here’s how to do it:
How to use wire to unclog the toilet
Prepare a piece of wire, bend one end into a hook shape, and insert it into the toilet bowl. Using one hand to hold the wire, use the other hand to slowly rotate and push the wire forward into the pipe. After pushing it in, loosen it a bit and check if you can hook out any blockage. Repeat this process multiple times. If you manage to hook something out, that will help resolve the blockage.
There are also commercial tools available that have one end designed with a snake-like wire and the other end with a rotating handle. By rotating and pushing it forward, you can extract the blockage, allowing the toilet to be unclogged. Finally, increase the water flow to flush it away.
What to do if the toilet is clogged
1、Many toilets get clogged due to a buildup of items that are difficult to flush down. To prevent such issues, be cautious during regular use. You can use a pressure unclogging method—get a longer pipe, connect one end to the water supply, and insert the other end into the toilet. Seal the toilet opening with something, then turn on the tap to use water pressure to unclog it.
2、You can also use a toilet plunger, also known as a plumbing auger, which is not very expensive. Position the plunger against the inner wall of the toilet, immersing it in water, and then apply strong upward motions repeatedly. This can also help in clearing the blockage.
3、Another method is to use hot water to unclog the toilet. If there are paper scraps, for example, which are hard to decompose, pour hot water into the toilet to soften them. Once softened, flush with more water, and you might see the wastewater slowly drain away, indicating successful unclogging.
4、Some blockages might require the use of a commercial drain cleaner, which is typically corrosive. A safer alternative is to mix baking soda with vinegar, stir it well, and pour it into the toilet bowl. This can effectively help dissolve and clear the blockage.
In summary:for moderately serious blockages or when you suspect there are hairs or scraps of paper in the toilet, using a wire to probe and unclog can be very effective.
