Three-Hole Mixer Faucet Installation: Tips and Tricks

24/02/2025 | Hawkrown

Faucets are familiar to everyone, as they are commonly used in daily life. There are a variety of faucets available, with the most common types being single-hole and three-hole faucets. The single-hole faucet is relatively simple, while the installation of a three-hole faucet is more complex. Let’s take a look at how to connect a three-hole mixed faucet.

I. Connection Method for Three-Hole Mixed Faucet

Before installation, please confirm the three openings on the sink. Remove the faucet body and fastening components, then insert the faucet body into the sink hole. A sealing pad must be placed under the bottom decorative seat. Next, tighten the fastening components from underneath the sink onto the faucet installation rod. Use a wrench to tighten the locking nut beneath the faucet body and handle, and use a cross screwdriver to securely fasten the screws on the locking nut. Finally, attach the three-way connector.

Screw in the two water inlet hoses into the handle body, noting that the red inlet hose connects to the left for hot water, while the blue inlet hose connects to the right for cold water. Then, use a wrench to connect the outlet hose between the faucet body and the three-way connector. Connect the inlet hoses from the faucet body to the hot and cold water angle valves, ensuring that the red inlet hose connects to hot water and the blue inlet hose connects to cold water.

Turn on the water supply and check if all connections are functioning properly. Turning the handle counterclockwise opens the faucet; the larger the angle, the greater the flow of hot water. Conversely, the smaller the angle, the smaller the flow. Rotating the handle clockwise opens the cold water; again, the larger the angle, the greater the flow, and vice versa.

II. Installation Precautions for Faucet

1. When installing the faucet, be careful not to bump it against hard objects and avoid letting substances like cement or glue remain on the surface of the faucet, as this can damage the luster of the plating.

2. Since new house plumbing systems can have debris like sand particles in the water, it's important to clear out impurities from the pipes before installing the faucet. Run water for a while until it runs clear before proceeding with the faucet installation.

Conclusion: This concludes the introduction to the connection method for faucets. For those interested, you might want to try installing it yourself. We would like to remind everyone to avoid using excessive force on faucets during daily use to prevent damage; gentle turning is sufficient. After use, make sure to wipe the surface of the faucet clean. Do not use the handle of the faucet as a support or a handrail.
