There are two types of faucets in a household: one connected to the cold water pipe and the other to the hot water pipe. Installing them is quite simple, but some careless individuals may mistakenly install the hot and cold faucets in reverse. What are the dangers of installing them incorrectly? What should one pay attention to when installing a faucet? Today, I will introduce some issues regarding faucets.

Dangers of Installing Hot and Cold Faucets Incorrectly

1. From a daily living perspective, reversing the hot and cold faucets may lead to inconvenience during use. For instance, if you intend to turn on the cold water faucet but mistakenly turn on the hot water, it can easily cause scalding issues. This is especially dangerous if there are young children in the house, as they may forget and get burned.

2. After prolonged use, the cold water will come out as hot water, while the hot water faucet will dispense cold water. You and your family will have to remember this and adapt. If the inconvenience bothers you, you can switch them back by disassembling the installed faucet and re-positioning it. If you’re unsure how to do this, it’s advisable to hire a professional to install it.

Installation Considerations for Faucets

1. Ensure the hot and cold water pipes are not installed incorrectly. Generally, the left side is for the hot water faucet, while the right side is for the cold water faucet. Some faucets even have labels that indicate which is which, so you can follow those markings during installation.

2. When installing the faucet, pay attention to the choice of water pipes. It's best to choose PPR pipes as they have excellent heat resistance and a long lifespan. Ensure that the bend radius allows for bending at an angle greater than 90 degrees.

3. When installing the hot water faucet, it is important to minimize the distance between the hot water supply and the faucet. This way, hot water will come out shortly after turning on the faucet, avoiding long waits. If the distance is too far, you might have to wait a long time for hot water to flow, which can waste water.

In summary: Be sure not to connect the hot and cold water pipes incorrectly during installation, as this can lead to various problems. Additionally, it is important to be mindful of the considerations when installing the faucet.
