A friend asked about a small leak caused by a broken hose under the sink, and they plan to replace the hose. Although they successfully removed the water pipe, they couldn’t get the small end near the faucet to come off. Today, I will introduce how to remove the small end of the faucet hose.
Method for Removing the Small End of the Faucet Hose:
First, turn off the water valve, then find the necessary tools for disassembly. The faucet hose usually has a plastic ring; you just need to unscrew the plastic ring from the hose. Alternatively, you can use a wrench to unscrew the small end inside.
Steps for Installing a New Hose:
1. First, remove the base, then take the nut off the hose, and thread the fittings onto the new hose in sequence.
2. Pass the hose through the sink and other containers, then install the silicone gaskets at both ends and screw them tight. Next, attach the small end of the hose to the water inlet of the faucet until it won’t turn anymore.
3. Screw the threaded pipe to the underside of the faucet and place the silicone gasket under the faucet, then use the nut to secure the faucet. This completes the installation.
The faucet hoses are divided into hot and cold hoses. What is the principle behind hot and cold hoses? Hot and cold hoses mix cold and hot water and control the water temperature before it flows out of the faucet. Therefore, the water from the faucet will have hot and cold variations during use.
When installing a thermostatic faucet, it is essential to identify the positions of the hot and cold water lines. If they are connected incorrectly, the faucet will not function. Additionally, the filter for hot and cold water should be installed properly, and the installation should be secure because frequent use of the faucet can cause loosening. If you are using a gas water heater or solar water heater at home, you cannot use a thermostatic faucet.
This article provides a detailed explanation and related information about the methods for removing and installing faucet hoses, as well as their working principles, and hopes to offer reference insights for everyone.
