In real life, when installing a toilet at home, what are the different sizes of toilet rough-in measurements?
Different Sizes of Toilet Rough-In Measurements
The rough-in measurement of a toilet refers to the distance from the wall to the center of the toilet's drain. Common sizes for rough-in measurements are 30 cm, 35 cm, 40 cm, and 45 cm.
In most households, the standard rough-in measurement used is 30 cm. Additionally, rough-in measurements can be categorized into floor-mounted and wall-mounted. For floor-mounted installations, the common specifications are 30 cm and 40 cm. In the case of wall-mounted toilets, the height from the floor is typically 15 cm or 18 cm.
Considerations for Measuring Toilet Rough-In
1、When measuring the rough-in for the toilet, it is crucial to clean the drainage pipe thoroughly. After ensuring there are no obstructions, proceed to measure. A hole with a diameter of 20 mm and a depth of 60 mm must be drilled. Next, insert a bolt with a diameter of about 10 mm into the hole and conduct a trial fit. Then, remove the toilet and align the four bolt holes with the bolts, ensuring it is level and properly adjusted. Finally, place the rubber gasket on the bolts and tighten the nuts securely.
2、When measuring the rough-in, draw a horizontal line 800 mm from the ground at the midpoint of the toilet. Create a hole with a diameter of 30 mm and a depth of 70 mm at the drain area. Insert a 10 mm diameter bolt into this hole, then secure it with concrete. Place the tank on top of the bolts, ensuring it is level. Add the rubber gasket and tighten the nuts.
3、When installing the water tank’s drain elbow, remove the nuts connecting the drain pipe and toilet. Insert the upper end into the water tank's drain and the lower end into the toilet's water inlet. Ensure the rubber gasket is properly placed at the water outlet and then tighten the nuts.
