In daily life, we frequently use toilets, but if the flushing power is insufficient, it can affect usability. What to do if the water level in the toilet bowl is shallow after flushing? Let’s take a look.

What to do if the water level in the toilet bowl is shallow after flushing

If the water level is low and shallow after flushing, it may be due to a filter screen in the toilet fill valve that has been clogged with limescale over time, preventing fresh water from entering. You can solve this by removing and cleaning the filter screen. First, turn off the valve on the hose that connects the tank to the water supply. Flush the toilet again to drain the remaining water in the tank. Locate the screw that secures the filter screen, then remove it and clean it thoroughly.

What to do if the toilet doesn’t refill

1、This is actually quite simple; a low water flow rate from the faucet could be the issue. Even high-quality toilets have internal filters that can become clogged with excessive limescale over time, preventing water from flowing in. Simply remove and clean the filter screen.

2、Turn off the valve on the hose connecting the tank to the water. Otherwise, you may experience water leakage after some time. Flush the toilet again to empty the remaining water in the tank.

3、Locate the hexagon nut that connects the hose to the water supply assembly in the tank; this assembly is a vertical plastic pipe. Use a wrench to turn the nut downwards and follow the procedure. Just look up at the nut's position; there may be a cover that matches the nut's position, rotation, and function from which additional water can be accessed from the toilet.

4、Remove the water supply assembly and find the small square column in the middle of the pipe. Use needle-nose pliers to pull it out; you will see that the square column and the filter are integrated and will come out together.

5、Use an old toothbrush or similar item to clean the filter. It’s best to use a limescale remover; soak the filter screen in a mixture of descaler and water for a while to make it clean. You can also pour some of this mixture into the water supply assembly to remove limescale from the inside. After thoroughly cleaning everything, reassemble it.
