Toilet bowls are products that are used quite frequently. When a malfunction occurs, the first step is to find the cause. Below, I will introduce what to do when the toilet tank is full but continues to fill with water.
What to do when the toilet tank is full but continues to fill with water
There are generally two causes for this issue. The first is that the float position is incorrect. First, remove the float, clean it, and then readjust its position in the tank. If it still continues to fill, you may need to replace it with a new float. The second cause could be a problem with the fill valve. Locate the fill valve, remove it, and then reinstall it carefully.
What to pay attention to when using a toilet
1、When cleaning the toilet, it is best to use warm water at about 45 degrees Celsius; avoid using water that is too hot to prevent cracking the toilet. Additionally, do not throw items like newspapers or diapers into the toilet, as they may cause blockages. If the toilet does get clogged, a plunger can be used to clear it.
2、Avoid slamming the toilet seat or the lid to prevent damage. When dealing with dirt on the toilet, do not use a wire brush for cleaning, as this can damage the surface glaze and corrode the pipes. To maintain cleanliness, it is advisable to clean the toilet at least once a week using a long-handled brush and soapy water to clean the pipes.
3、The filter inside the tank should be cleaned once a month, as a dirty filter can affect the inflow and outflow of water. When cleaning the tank, do not use chlorine-based cleaners, as they may damage the tank's components, leading to leaks or damage.
4、Do not place the toilet in direct sunlight or near heat sources or areas with heavy oil residues, as this can cause discoloration and aging. When cleaning the toilet lid, use a soft cloth and avoid using strong acidic cleaners, as they can corrode the surface; do not use blades to scrape off stains.
5、When opening and closing the toilet lid, remember to avoid forceful movements to prevent breakage. While using the water tank, do not lean back on the toilet, as this could break the lid. Each time you press the button, do so gently to avoid damaging the tank components.
In summary:regarding what to do when the toilet tank is full but continues to fill with water, the two main causes are that the float may be positioned incorrectly or there may be an issue with the fill valve.
