We have all encountered some instances of toilet water seepage. Do you know why toilets leak? How can we solve this problem? Let's take a look together.
Reasons for Toilet Water Seepage:
Toilet water seepage usually occurs at the bottom. This could be due to improper installation initially, where the waste outlet and the toilet drain pipe are not aligned properly, leading to leakage at the bottom. It may also result from the absence of a flange or a loss of seal integrity in the flange. Additionally, long-term use can cause the toilet to become loose from the floor, resulting in gaps that eventually lead to bottom leakage.
How to Address Toilet Water Seepage:
1、First, remove the toilet and check if the seal at the bottom is properly installed. Clean the bottom of the toilet, and use sealant to reseal it correctly.
2、If the toilet waste outlet and the floor drain outlet are misaligned, clean the floor and apply a layer of silicone sealant around the drain hole.
3、After fixing the toilet, do not use it for 24 hours to allow the sealant to set before using it again.
Daily Maintenance of the Toilet:
1、Avoid placing the toilet in direct sunlight or near direct heat sources, as this can cause discoloration. The lid should be lifted gently, and when using the toilet with low or no water in the tank, do not lean back to avoid damage.
2、Use a soft cloth to clean the lid and seat, and do not use strong cleaning powders, caustic materials, or solvents, as they can corrode the surface. Avoid using abrasive brushes, blades, or any sharp objects for cleaning to prevent scratching the ceramic surface.
3、Regularly clean the toilet, typically once or twice a week. After each cleaning, ensure the toilet brush is free from stains, and store it in a dry, ventilated area.
Tips for Unclogging a Toilet:
1、You can use tape to seal the toilet tightly, flush the toilet, and when the tape bulges in the middle, push down forcefully.
2、Pour hot water from a height, or use a plunger directed at the drain hole, pressing down and pulling up repeatedly until it unclogs.
