Faucets can also be referred to as water valves, which we use to control the flow of water and conserve water. There are many types of faucets, and we need to choose the right one based on our family needs. Today, I will discuss what size (in inches) standard faucets are and what aspects we should pay attention to when purchasing a faucet.

1. What size are standard faucets?

Common household faucets are generally either a 1/2 inch (four分) or 3/4 inch (six分) size. The terms four分 and six分 refer to the diameter of the water pipe. A four分 faucet has an inner diameter of 15mm and an outer diameter of 21.3mm, while a six分 faucet has an inner diameter of 20mm and an outer diameter of 26.8mm. Of course, when choosing a faucet, we should select either a four分 or six分 based on the actual situation.

2. What to pay attention to when buying a faucet?

1. Weight: When purchasing a faucet, you should avoid buying ones that are too light. Generally, lighter faucets are a result of manufacturers cutting costs by hollowing out the internal copper. While the faucet may appear large, it will feel light. Using such a faucet may lead to it bursting under water pressure.

2. Rotation angle: When selecting a faucet, choose one that can rotate 360 degrees. This feature makes it more convenient to use while the faucet is in operation. A faucet with a 360-degree rotation is particularly beneficial for sinks located in the center of a room.

3. Valve core: The heart of a faucet is its valve core. Generally, hot and cold faucets use ceramic valve cores. The valve cores from brands like Taiwan's KQC, Spain's Sitech, and Zhuhai's Mingshi are known for their high quality.

4. Hose: Studies indicate that a 50cm hose is sufficient for use in most households. However, longer hoses of 70cm or more are also available in the market. When purchasing, avoid aluminum wire hoses, as stainless steel wires are better. If you grip the hose and pull it, and your hand turns black, it indicates it is made of aluminum. If there is no change, it is likely made of stainless steel.

5. Shower hose: When selecting a faucet, avoid metal hoses, as they can produce unpleasant sounds during use. Additionally, metal hoses are prone to rusting when they come into contact with water, which affects their appearance.

In summary: These are the five aspects to keep in mind when purchasing a faucet, as well as information on the standard sizes of faucets. I hope this helps improve your daily life.
