Opening the faucet at home and finding that the water flow is quite small can be very frustrating. What causes a low water flow from the faucet, and how can it be resolved? Don't worry, I will analyze this for you.
First, what could cause low water flow from the faucet?
1. First, check if just one faucet has low water flow or if all faucets are affected. If only one faucet has low water flow, it is likely due to a clogging issue. The faucet has a filter at the bottom, or a bubbler, which is most prone to clogging and can result in a reduced water flow.
2. If all faucets have low water flow, this is likely due to water pressure issues. Especially for residents in high-rise buildings, during peak water usage times, insufficient water pressure can lead to all faucets having a diminished flow.
Now, what can be done if the faucet has low water flow?
1. If only one faucet is clogged, leading to low water flow, you can disassemble the faucet and clean the bubbler inside. You can use baking soda and white vinegar to soak it, which will dissolve any debris. After soaking, rinse it under water and reassemble it back to the faucet. If you turn on the faucet afterward, the water flow should increase significantly.
2. If all faucets are experiencing low water flow because of water pressure issues, you can directly contact the property management to resolve it. If the low water supply is due to insufficient pressure in high-rise buildings, a booster pump can be installed at the main valve in your home. It’s important to choose a booster pump with a slightly higher power, as this will resolve the low water pressure issue. After installation, when you turn on the faucets and showers, you should notice a significant increase in water flow.
In summary, if you find that the water flow from your home faucets is low, it could either be due to a clog in the faucet or a supply issue. It’s essential to identify which issue is at play before addressing it, as both can be resolved effectively.
