Many people do not understand the reasons for the leaking faucets in their homes and are unsure how to fix them. Today, I will share some tips on what to do if your home faucet is leaking.
The installation steps for a pull-out faucet are as follows:
1. There are several reasons why a home faucet may leak. If the leakage is due to the outlet not closing properly and causing dripping, we need to replace the gasket inside the faucet.
2. First, use an appropriate screwdriver to remove the screws on both sides of the faucet. Then, rotate the faucet by hand to inspect the internal gasket to see if it has displaced or damaged. If the gasket is aging, damaged, or displaced, it should be replaced promptly. If it is not damaged or aging but merely displaced, you can correct its position.
3. If the leak is coming from the base of the faucet, you may find that the O-ring is damaged. First, turn off the water supply and rotate the faucet’s nut counterclockwise. You can use a wrench for leverage during this process. Additionally, wrap tape around the nut to prevent damaging the faucet surface while using the wrench.
4. After removing the faucet nut, lift the outlet upward so that you can see the O-ring inside. If the O-ring is damaged, replacing it will solve the leak. Finally, reassemble the faucet to fix the leakage issue.
5. If the faucet is leaking due to water seeping through the valve core, it might be caused by excessive force during use, leading to loosening. In this case, reinstalling it should resolve the issue.
