When using a toilet, some people may find that their toilet doesn't stop filling. This could be due to wear on the rubber seal in the toilet's shut-off valve. To replace it, we can follow these three steps.
Easy Installation of a Toilet Water Tank Stop Rubber Seal:
1、Drain the Toilet Tank
First, turn off the water supply valve to the toilet. Typically, you can do this by turning the valve clockwise. Next, press the flush button on the toilet tank to empty the water from the tank. Afterward, lift the lid off the tank to check if any water remains. If there is still a small amount of water, you can use a sponge or cloth to soak it up. Draining the water tank makes it easier to replace the shut-off rubber seal later.
2、Remove the Old Shut-off Rubber Seal
The toilet shut-off valve has two parts: the upper and lower sections. To dismantle it, hold the top of the shut-off valve, turn it counterclockwise, and pull it upward to remove the upper section. You will see a screw on the base of the shut-off valve. Use a screwdriver to loosen and remove this screw, then take out the base of the shut-off valve. There will be a rubber seal located at the base, which you can remove directly.
3、Install the New Shut-off Rubber Seal
Get a new shut-off rubber seal and place it onto the base of the shut-off valve. Then, insert the base into the drain hole of the tank and use a screwdriver to tighten the screw to secure it. The base of the drain valve has a slot; align the latch on the upper part of the drain valve with the slot on the base and secure it by turning the top of the drain valve. Once the rubber seal is replaced, turn on the toilet water supply valve and check for any leaks from the shut-off valve.
