The use of faucets is very important, and if problems arise, they need to be addressed promptly. Let's take a look at how to determine if the faucet valve core is damaged.

How to Determine if the Faucet Valve Core is Damaged

If the faucet is not functioning properly, there are two methods to check if the valve core is damaged:

1. You need to disassemble the faucet and inspect the internal ceramic friction plates to see if they are damaged or if there are gaps between the two plates. If there are, it indicates that the valve core is damaged.

2. If the silicone seal inside the faucet has insufficient elasticity and shows signs of aging, it may not be able to compress the water tightly, causing it to leak from above. This is also a result of a damaged valve core.

How to Remove a Damaged Old Valve Core

1. First, turn off the main water valve in your home. Find the red and blue markings on the faucet handle, remove them, and use a screwdriver to unscrew the internal screws and take off the handle. You can then use a wrench to unscrew the cap and remove the internal valve core.

2. Alternatively, you can insert the head of the screwdriver into the bottom of the faucet handle and gently pry it left and right to remove the valve core. Be careful to apply even force during prying to avoid damaging other internal components of the faucet.

How to Replace the New Valve Core

1. Once the old valve core is removed, purchase a new valve core of the same model. Note that there will be rubber at the bottom of the valve core; for example, the left valve core has a red rubber, while the right one has a blue rubber. Be careful not to mix them up.

2. After installing the new valve core, reattach the faucet handle, adjust the handle direction properly, and screw the screws back in place. Finally, test to see if it functions normally.

In summary, we have covered how to determine if the faucet valve core is damaged, how to remove a damaged old valve core, and how to replace it with a new one. Did everyone understand? If the faucet valve core is damaged, it should be addressed promptly to avoid affecting long-term use and normal daily life.
