Many households have well-equipped shower facilities, such as various sizes of showerheads, and we can adjust them according to our needs while bathing。For example, there is a type of overhead showerhead that has a higher water density and smoother flow, which is popular among many people。However, after a period of use, it may experience clogging issues, causing the water flow to become obstructed。Some people may consider replacing the showerhead, but hold on;let me tell you what to do。
一、What to do if the shower water flow is not smooth
1。If the overhead shower shows problems with water flow, it is quite normal, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the showerhead is damaged。First, check whether the showerhead is clogged。Over time, limescale can build up, and we just need to remove the showerhead for cleaning。
2。Take off the showerhead and put it in a large basin of clean water, then add some white vinegar。Soak the entire showerhead in the mixture for about half an hour to an hour。After soaking, use a clean brush to scrub away any water stains。You will find that the water flow becomes more concentrated, indicating that limescale and debris were indeed the issue。
3。If you notice visible clogs in the showerhead, turn on the faucet to see which holes are blocked。You can use a toothpick or a needle to poke through the small holes on the spray nozzles, which can help restore smoother water flow。
4。If the clogging is severe, you can use a professional lubricant。A rust remover lubricant can react with limescale inside the showerhead, helping to dislodge rusted areas while forming a protective layer, which won’t harm the showerhead。
二、How to disassemble an overhead shower
1、If your showerhead is detachable, you don’t need any tools。Simply rotate it counter-clockwise, and the spray head should come off。Inside, you’ll find an O-ring that you can rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise to remove。Some showerheads may have a small circular cover that requires a screwdriver for removal。Be sure to keep any screws for later cleaning。
2、If it is non-detachable, such as a built-in wall shower, then you will have to replace it with a new one。
