If you notice a low water flow while bathing or using hot water, and find that the flow from other faucets is normal, it may indicate a blockage in the hot water pipeline. Here's how to clear the blockage:
How to Clear a Blockage in the Shower Hot Water Pipeline
1. If this problem occurs, first turn off the power and the triangular valve. Block the pipe that needs to be cleared, then open the nut on the other end of the water pipe and connect a hose to drain the water until all the cold water is drained. Connect one end of the hose to the hot water inlet, and the other end to the faucet. By repeatedly draining the water, until the discharged water is clean, you can effectively clear the hot water pipeline.
2. After all the water is drained, connect one end of the hose to the hot water inlet and the other end to the faucet again. Open it and let water flow for one to two minutes, allowing more cold water to fill the tank. By repeating this process until the discharged water is clean, you can effectively clear the hot water pipeline.
3. Finally, close the nuts on both the cold and hot water inlets, then open the triangular valve. Hot water will start to supply until water flows out. Check if the water flow has increased. If it has, that means the clearing process has worked.
How to Clean the Water Scale in a Water Heater
1. Regardless of whether you use an electric or gas water heater, water scale will build up over time. Don’t underestimate this scale, as heavy buildup can clog the interior, affecting the lifespan of the gas water heater. For instance, it may lead to longer burning times and cause the water heater to operate under higher loads, increasing water and electricity costs.
2. First, unplug the power supply, and prepare a cleaning solution, such as diluted hydrochloric acid. Then, open the water inlet of the water heater and pour in this solution. After about half an hour, when the solution has dissolved some of the buildup, open the cold water valve to flush it out. Repeat this process several times until the water runs clear, indicating that the scale has been successfully removed.
In summary:regular cleaning and maintenance of your home water heater are essential to prolong its lifespan and reduce the risk of issues.
