19/12/2024 | Hawkrown
I believe everyone is familiar with toilets, which are essential sanitary fixtures installed in every household. Their presence not only provides convenience for people but also enhances aesthetics. So, what causes a toilet tank to continuously run?
一、What Causes a Toilet Tank to Continuously Run
1、It is possible that the float ball of the flushing mechanism is not positioned correctly.
2、If the flush mechanism appears to be wobbling, this indicates that the semi-circular securing piece below the flush assembly may be damaged or loose.
3、If tightening the adjustment screw on the water inlet assembly does not stop the running water, it suggests that the shut-off valve or the diaphragm is faulty and needs to be replaced.
二、Common Toilet Tank Issues
1、It is well-known that there are various materials for toilet tanks nowadays, with ceramic and PVC being common, both of which have relatively poor impact resistance. If the tank is subjected to impact during use, it may get damaged. If the damage is minor, some adhesive can be used for repairs, but if it is severe, replacing the tank would be advisable.
2、If there are no visible defects on the exterior of the tank, it indicates that there may be issues inside. Users must remove the tank cover to check the water level inside. If the water tank is full but continues to fill, or does not fill when it reaches a certain level, it could mean there’s a problem with the float ball or it may be malfunctioning. In this case, adjust the float ball's position. If that doesn't work, replacing the float ball is necessary.
3、If the toilet tank is leaking, it may likely be due to a damaged seal at the base of the tank. Users should first drain the water from the tank, then clean out any debris inside the tank and remove the seal. If it can’t be fixed, replacing the seal is recommended.
