Bathtubs are commonly used in many households, and the bottom of the bathtub is usually equipped with a drain device to facilitate water drainage. Here’s how to remove the bathtub drain device.

How to Remove the Bathtub Drain Device

When disassembling, first unscrew the small cylinder on the drain device by hand, which will allow the pull rod inside to be removed. Next, unscrew the shower hose and then remove the connector on the top, which will allow you to detach the drain pipe at the bottom. If you need to reinstall it, you will need to purchase a drain device of the same model, align it properly with the bathtub’s drain hole, and tighten the nut.

Types of Bathtubs

1. Massage Bathtub

The massage bathtub is a commonly used type, consisting mainly of the tub body and the massage system. It is designed with jets inside, while the back of the bathtub has hidden pipelines and a motor. This type of bathtub has a massage function that can automatically massage the user while bathing, helping to relieve fatigue.

2. Cast Iron Bathtub

There are many materials for bathtubs, but cast iron bathtubs are relatively rare. They are resistant to dirt, easy to clean, and have a long lifespan. However, this type of bathtub can be expensive, has a poorer insulation effect compared to other bathtubs, and is quite heavy, making it difficult to move.

3. Folding Bathtub

The folding bathtub mainly uses double-layer waterproof fabric, filled with sponge, providing good waterproof performance. The material is less prone to rupture, and it can be folded for storage, thus not taking up indoor space.

4. Ceramic Bathtub

Aside from cast iron bathtubs, ceramic bathtubs are commonly used. However, this material is heavy, resource-intensive, and prone to breakage, which is why it is gradually being replaced by materials such as acrylic and enamelled cast iron.

5. Wooden Tub

Wooden tubs are also quite popular nowadays, made from cedar wood and constructed with natural wood panels. During the design phase, a wooden board is usually installed at the bottom of the tub for users to sit and bathe. Some wooden tubs are also equipped with massage jets on both sides to massage the back and neck.

Summary

The above is about how to remove the bathtub drain device, and I believe everyone understands it now! The bathtub drain device is a crucial part of the drainage system, so when it fails, it should be addressed promptly.
