Many people choose to install a straight shower room in their bathrooms. The installation process can be divided into the following four steps. Here’s a brief introduction to each step.
The Ultimate Installation Sequence for Your Shower Room
1. Product Inspection
Before installing the shower room, we need to unpack it and check whether all the components match the instructions. When unpacking the glass, we should place cardboard on the floor and set the glass against the wall at an angle. We also need to check if the glass is safety glass and inspect it for any cracks, etc. Before installation, we should remove the protective film from the edge track, base, and other components.
2. Site Preparation
When installing a straight shower room, we first need to check if the stone base has been installed as required, using a level to ensure that it is flat. Before officially starting the installation, we need to clean the stone base and the area around it with a cloth or mop.
3. Assembling the Frame
First, we will install the edge tracks. Place the two edge tracks on one side of the stone base and check their vertical alignment with a level. Next, use a marker to mark the drilling positions on the wall, drill holes at these positions, then place the edge tracks and tighten the fixing screws. Follow the same method to install the other edge track.
Next, we will install the base. Before placing the base, apply sealant in the gap between the edge tracks and the stone base. Then, set the base onto the stone base and use sealant to fill the gaps between the base and the edge tracks.
The next step is to install the top track. The top track has two channels, and we will place the hangers into the top track. Typically, two hangers are placed in one channel. Afterward, we will position the top track above the two edge tracks and press down to secure it.
Finally, we will install the stopper. Place the stoppers at the corresponding positions on the edge tracks and base, then secure them with screws. The screws on the stoppers can be covered with decorative caps. When installing, ensure that the spacing between the stoppers is uniform.
4. Installing the Glass Panels and Other Accessories
Generally, the glass for the shower room comes pre-drilled. We will lift the glass onto the shower room frame, inserting the bottom end into the base stopper, then use the hanger to clamp the glass and secure it with screws. Next, we will install rubber seals on the side of the glass that is close to the edge track. Use the same method to install the other glass panel. Finally, secure the glass handle onto the glass door with screws.
In summary:the correct sequence for installing a shower room has been briefly introduced here. I hope that after reading this article, you will gain a better understanding of the steps involved in shower room installation.
